Starchoice - Satellite TV
I bought this Starchoice package from Radio Shack. It included a new satellite receiver and a dish and FREE installation. I phoned Starchoice to get the FREE installation, but they said that there already was a dish at my current location and they would not install the new one. The current dish is very low to the ground and is in front of pine trees and is also an older dish that only picks up signals from 1 satellite where the new one picks up signals from 4 satellites. I phone back and they talk to their managers and give me a price of $100 to install the new dish, but I have to uninstall my old one. I decline. I phone back again, and ask to talk to a manager, I explain that I already paid for the FREE installation when I bought the package and that it was false advertising.
They say that it wasn't their problem and to take it up with Radio shack. They offer me $50 for the install of the new dish and state that it was "fair" after I threaten to cut of my service. (Which it doesn't really matter to them seeing that Bell Express Vu and Starchoice are owned the the same company and they are the only Staellite providers in Canada.) So in a nutshell Starchoice's definition of FREE is $50 bucks.
