Ocean State Job Lot Refuses To Refund For Defective Merchandise

To Whom It May Concern: I would like to bring to your attention a complaint I have about the exchanges and returns at Ocean State Job Lot #304, located at 100 Main St. The Mall At Bristol Centre Bristol, CT. 06010. Headquarters in New Jersey. Specifically, I'm writing about returns and refunds. I am extremely upset about this, and I hope you are able to resolve this situation. While shopping in the store I found some software that interested me. At check out I asked the clerk if it could be returned for a refund if it didn't work. The clerk said yes it could, so I bought it. When I tried the software I found it didn't work even though the box stated it was compliant with my system. I brought it back to the store and they refused to refund my money. I even said I'd take a store credit since I shop there often. They still refused.

They now say they will not take back open software. I asked them how else could I find out it was defective? Should I use a Vulcan Mind Meld on the software prior to purchaseing it? You have to open it to use it and then if it doesn't work it's defective, case closed. I explained that I was told at the time of purchase I could get a refund if it didn't work on my machine. They have denied that policy and continue to refuse a refund on the defective merchandise. Shoppers Beware! I seriously doubt that I will ever buy from Ocean State Job Lot again, and I will urge everyone I know to steer clear as well. On average I have visited the store 4 or 5 times per month and spent on average $50.00 per visit. You think they'd appreciate that. Here's what I'd like to see Ocean State Job Lot do about this: REFUND MY MONEY YOU THIEFS! QUITE LIEING TOO! Mike
