Dell Financial Services - Worst company to deal with
Dear Sir, I had purchased a computer for $807.54 from Dell Inc. and got it financed through Dell Financial Services (DFS). I was initially offered a 6 month 0% interest at the time of applying and later DFS switched it to 90 days. Irrespective, I made a payment of $307.54 in January 2004 as I intended to pay my account in full before the promotion period expired. I received no account statements from dell from January '2004 onwards as they had the wrong address on file from January to June'04. on June 17, 2004, I contacted them as I had received no statements, I got my addess and phone updated on their records.
The very next day, I received a call from their representative saying that a total amount of $575.04 was due on my account. I explained the above to 4 different customer representatives and a couple of Managers, the last one - Mr. Patric (Ph. 408-524-9296) who were not willing to look into anything, but demanded a payment of $575.04, on the context that the interest was levied on the account since the payment was not recieved witin 90 days of interest free period.
I explained them that as I never received any statements, how would I know that any payment was due, and as I intended to pay in full, why should DFS charge an interest on my account and the fact, that I made a initial payment in January, way before it was due in March 04. Also, I have been receiving tons of promotional emails on my email account for which I never signed up, but not a single email giving a statement of account, or informing that my account was past due. I question the bussiness practice of this concern and request that this matter may kindly be looked into and resolved. Thank you,
Arvind http://dfs.us.dell.com/
