We purchased a Maytag Neptune washer approximately three years ago. The deciding factor on this purchase was its energy saving feature of water. We have had nothing but grief ever since this purchase of $1,000. It built up mold and mildew on the inside, making our clothes smell like vomit.
Maytag has been out seven times to repair this and everytime I have contacted them, I have had to deal with either ignorant customer service employees or supervisors who suggest "you're not using hot enough water, or "you're not adding bleach to every load, or "are you drying your machine out after use?" It also does not spin the clothes dry enough.
Everytime a serviceman comes out, he runs the machine through at least two cycles. Then I am told that I have to run it through again with this Cascade detergent using only hot water. So much for saving water. I will be the first one on board to submit my name if there is a class-action lawsuit against them. I am now faced with the machine filling with water, when we are not home, and so far I have been fortunate enough to have it not overflow while we are work. It is a shame to think that you can't leave your home for an extended period of time because of a faulty, expensive, washing machine.
Consumers: Do not buy a Maytag Neptune. Read on the internet how many people have had problems. There is no such thing as service from Maytag. They take your money and run, with no feelings of guilt whatsoever. I am very upset about this. I still have a moldy machine that now fills with water when not in use. I truly do hope that something can be done to Maytag--from the top execs on down to their rude supervisors and customer service employees. ----------------------------------------- Cami G Cami G
