D'Amico Lincoln Mercury Dealership East Brunswick Service Department
I have purchased a 2001 Cougar from D'Amico in East Brunswick, NJ. I too have taken my car there regularly for check ups. One time 2 days after my check up my car was dead. I had it towed back to the Dealership for a belt. The car was 3 months old. They tried to make me pay for a rental which went over well. It is three years later and my car sounds like the breaks are dragging and my car hesitates to go when I pull into traffic. I put the car in reverse and then drive or park to drive and it feels like someone crashed into my rear. I brought the car there last week to have it looked at for these specific items. When I went to pick up my car, at the end of the day, they said they ran my car on the computer and everything was fine. They said they had to order me two parts that were under warranty but the labor is $300. I said fine.
Today I bring it back to have the two parts installed and on the way to the dealership my car bucks and kicks. I dropped the car off and asked for the computer printout that said nothing is wrong w/my car and the man 'Joe' said they NEVER ran any computer test. That my car was NEVER looked at. I asked him to have them look at it. That was this morning. I just called now, 2pm and they said they never looked at my car yet and it was suppose to be ready at noon. This man said they will just install the two parts and not look at the other problems I have with the car. This dealership does not care about you or your car. They swindle you out of your money and do't care about anything else. I will never take my car there again after I pick it up today. Sincerely, Laurene U Continuation from earlier email. As you know the dealership service department had my car all day. My appointment was for 7:30 am to have the two parts put in my car. They told me my car would be ready at noon. At 3:30 my last conversation with this service department was a phone call from them. It started with "We have bad news for you" They started to work on my car at 3:30 pm realizing the parts they ordered were the wrong parts. I will pick up my car today and demand a refund for parts and labor and never return there. Sincerely, Laurene U
