Complaint-PCDirectBiz.com
This complaint is against pcdirectbiz.com, Inc., located at 3375 Spring Hill Parkway, Suite #818. Smyrna. Georgia, 770.436-0308.
I contacted this company to purchase a laptop computer. They debited my checking account for $99.00, on March 6, 2004. After that, the only thing I heard from them was again on March 23, telling me by e-mail, once again that I had been approved for the loan.
Finally, at the first part of April, and only after several phone calls, I got through to someone at their Customer support. At this time I was told that my credit score had now dropped so I was required to pay 30% of the total price of the computer prior to it being shipped to me. As soon as I questioned this, the customer rep turned very rude, and made it clear all they wanted to hear was that I wanted to cancel, and also made it clear that I would not get a refund.
After speaking with the company rep, I then started checking, both on the company and on the product I had contacted to purchase. It turns out that the computer I contracted to purchase, i.e., an Compaq 2500, with an 2.8Ghz Intel Celeron processor, does not exist; the Intel corporation does not make a 2.8GHz Celeron processor for laptop computers.
When I contacted the company with this information, they made it clear that it didn't matter, they had my money and I wasn't getting a refund, I then contacted them and stated that I wanted to go ahead and purchase their computer and that I had the 30% of the total purchase price, but that I wanted the exact computer that I had contracted for. This time I sent the e-mail to the company's legal department. I also told them that if they didn't want to or were unable to complete the deal as contracted, I would file suit against them. This time I heard back almost immediately from someone representing themselves as the company's attorney, telling me to go ahead and file suit, the company didn't care.
It is selling people computers that they represent as being one thing when in fact they are something quite different. They are doing this even though they have been notified that the information they have on their website is incorrect. Further, this company is grossly overcharging their customers for the products they sell solely because they know their customers have credit problems.
The model computer that I wanted to buy, with the largest processor available, sells for an average of $799.00, but this company is charging it's customers $1499.
Currently, I am preparing to pursue this matter in the courts.
