2000 Chevy Cavalier - I had to replace the blower motor resistor in my 2000 Chevy Cavalier

2000 Chevy Cavalier

I had to replace the blower motor resistor in my 2000 Chevy Cavalier. I had talked to a GM Mechanic and he stated that it was a common problem. It is not too dificult to replace yourself. it is located on the passenger side under the dash, just to the right of the hump and behind the blower.

My symptoms were that levels 3 and 4 of the heater fan control did not work but 1 and 2 did. I supose it could be any combination.

To replace simply remove the blower motor, unplug the resistor and replace in reverse order. The part cost me about $35 from the dealer, it may be cheaper (if available) from an auto part store.
