Compaq Presario 700 - monitor has broken once, the screen case is cracked at the bottom near the hinges, my dvd player won't run smoothly, the wireless port doesn't work

I own a Compaq Presario 700 and have for less than two and a half years. Obviously, in terms of computers, mine is outdated, but two and a half years is really no time at all. In this short period, my monitor has broken once, the screen case is cracked at the bottom near the hinges, my dvd player won't run smoothly, the wireless port doesn't work, the computer in general overheats, it makes a tremendous amount of noise, won't recognize the cord unless it is at the right place, and as of today, the cd drive won't close.

Three of my friends also own Compaqs and each have had similar problems. All of our screen cases are cracked, one friend has had her LCD break, another's won't run DVDs smoothly. One of my friends has also gone through two power cords.

It could all be coincidence, but I think that Compaq may be at fault. Please post also if you have experienced similar problems with a Presario 700 or e-mail me
