Classmates.com - charged $ 6 per month for Buyer's Assurance - no knowledge or recollection regarding a subscription
My complaint is with Classmates.com. I got your website by searching for Wli*Travelvaluesplus.com in Google while wondering why I had a $6.
charge on my Visa this month and last. Turns out I have been negligent in checking my Visa charges and this has been going on since 6/21/03. I also was charged $6 in June, July and August for something called
Buyer's Assurance that I also have no knowledge or recollection regarding a subscription. I Googled the Wli looking for some connection before calling the company to investigate and there is was.
Classmates.com. While I probably looked at that site and have subscribed in the past, I did not resubscribe to their "Gold Club" or whatever it is that gives you access, and I certainly would not have signed up for some silly travel service.
I do not travel much, and have not been out of town in the past year, but I did look for some air pricing last summer for my daughter. I would not have agreed to a monthly fee for a service I would rarely if ever use. I have called Wli* and canceled my "subscription", but my complaint is with Classmates.com. How do they get away with this? Do they just prey on negligent people like myself who are interested in connecting with old
classmates and then don't pay enough attention to bills?
They only time I would have given them my Visa number would not have been just this past June, but well over a year before that when I originally became the "Gold Club" member. Is there any recourse for the $60 to Wli and the $18 to Buyer's Assurance? They need to be stopped. They must makes gobs of money. Sincerely, Myrna B
