Further response fro Mr. Coffee. They offered and shipped a new model at no charge.
Mr. Coffee all models
I have purchased three Mr. Coffee Maker models the last one model lx30 lasted just beyond the warrantee period of one year, as did the prior other two. The part that was bad in all three makers was a minor part , a fuse or thermostat . Contact with the company referred me to an authorized repair center who refused to sell the minor part .
Inquiring what the repair would cost I was told the shipping and repair costs would be equal or greater then a new purchase. I later found a substitute for less than $3.00 and replaced the part in less than 25 minutes, 10 minutes of that time was getting the bottom screws out due to the need of a special tool. Further contact with the company resulted in an offer to purchase a new unit.
It appears they do not wish to provide repair service beyond the warrantee period.
