Shade from House of Blinds/Southfield, Mi
My name is Marjorie Fort and on Feb. 17, 2003 a House of Blinds Rep. came to my home. I wanted to purchase a shade to match the one hanging over my picture window. The Sales Rep. (Harvey Gross) stated no problem. I basically stated I wanted it to look like the shade already hanging up.
He started writing and because he was looking directly at the shade on my wall, I felt no need to double check his documentation. I wanted a white roller shade, half moon trim w/ a natural colored loop and a natural color embroidered piece on the bar, which is on the front of the shade. Harvey stated no problem, one again. About 4-6 weeks later, I went to pick up the shade and the shade was incorrect.
The color was white, not natural and no embroidered piece of material was on the bar. I spoke with Linda (Supervisor) she pointed out Harvey ordered white and not natural, she also stated a piece of embroidered material could not be placed on the bar, that House of blinds is unable to do that. I then stated I would like my money returned because I was given incorrect information by harvey.
I had previously went to Blinds to Go and they were able to provide the shade for $200 without the embroidered piece of material on the bar. I only went to House of Blinds to check if another company could give me what I wanted. If House of blinds could not, I would not have agreed to pay them $300 for the shade. I felt I was mislead and Linda offered to give me the shade for $200, without the embroidered piece of material on the bar and I said fine.
She then called back and stated that House of Blinds could add the piece of material for the original $300, I said fine, but I had to wait another 4-6 weeks for the shade. The shade came in 4-6 weeks later and again it was not correct. There was no embroidered piece of material on the bar on the front of the shade. I called Linda and someone came to pick up the shade on 4/20/04. But once again I was told I had to wait about 1-2 weeks this time for the shade to come.
Through out this ordeal I was only given a $28 dollar discount. As of today the date is 4/25/04 and I still do not have my shade. Also the shade was given to me the second time without brackets, someone had removed the brackets from the box and they were later mailed to me. I am very upset about this matter. I do not know if I will ever return to House of Blinds again. Linda at one time offered $50 off the next order. Well, this order is the problem, not the next order. But about now. I do not feel I was treated with respect or talked to professionally. I did not feel anyone really cared.
