I had cancelled my Earthlink satellite internet service when I left the country for 15 months, but they continued to automatically charge my credit card. Unfortunately, I did not detect this for several months. I then agreed to a 50% credit for the charges and to reinstate the service when I returned to the US.
However, after many lame excuses, they were unable to get me online after trying for three weeks, so I again cancelled the service. Last month, I noticed that Earthlink again attempted to charge my credit card; but it was fortunately rejected based upon my instructions to the credit card company. I wrote a letter of complaint to the Attorney Generals office in Georgia. I recently received a reply that Earthlink is under investigation. They are indeed one of the worst companies that I have ever dealt with, I contacted DirecPC and was up and running the same day for only $59.95 per month. Earthlink uses DirecPC as their provider and charges $10 more per month. But, dealing with DirecPC was a pleasure. George B
