AMERICAN READING CLUB IS A MAJOR RIPOFF! They have taken $50.00 from my recently acquired credit card account.I have never heard of them until I inquired about an unexplained charge.

When I called the toll free number for AMERICAN READING CLUB 1-800-237-7855 they told me they had no record of me (name,adress,phone number or account number),but the money is gone from my account.Isnt this illegal ? What can I do about this situation?

Call a Lawyer and tell them about the company and how many complaints are on the web about this same company, and ask them about a Class Action Lawsuit. Then can call the Company back and tell them that you will sue them if they don't totally reimburse you for the full amount of money. Thats what I did and it worked. I left a very angry message on their answering machine, and they called me in 3-4 minutes, and told me that it was an Honest mistake and they would return me my money. Now, if I don't see the money in 1-2 weeks I will call them and I will also sue their asses off, because there are way too many complaints for this to be an "Honest Mistake".
