credit card offers that won't stop

Several years ago I had my name put on the permanent opt-out list for unsolicited credit card offers. Several months after joining the list I stopped receiving unsolicited credit card offers. In the spring of 2002

I ordered some seeds from the Burpee catalog.

Apparently Burpee sold my name to MBNA. Several weeks later I received an offer for a Burpee/MNBA credit card. I contacted (by email) both Burpee and MBNA and asked them to remove me from their mailing list. Every three months or so since then I have received an unsolicited credit card offer from MBNA. I have

responded to every offer (by postal mail) informing them that I am on the opt-out list and asking them to remove my name from their list.

They seem to be ignoring my request. Three months ago I received another MBNA credit card offer, I called them on the telephone, the person I spoke with said I would be removed from the mailing list. This week I received another credit card offer. How do I make these people stop harassing me? It appears that either MBNA is ignoring the opt-out list or the credit reporting companies that set it up are running some sort of scam. In these days of rampant

identity theft I don’t not want these types of documents in my mail. Moral of the story...don't do business with Burpee, they sell your name and address to credit card companies. --
