Air Conditioning Service
Milner Airco Charlotte, NC My husband and I purchased a home end of December 2000 and moved in January 2001. On May 2002 we had to have our coil replaced (at least so they say that is what they did). The techs said that luckily it is under warranty and it will not cost you anything to have this repaired. A year later, May 2003, our air condition unit was not working, only blowing out warm air. Come to find out it was out of Freon. IN august and September the same thing happened again.
We then got the home builder involved who called Milner and told them to come out and fix our unit because they were trying to charge us $175 to tell us what was wrong. The service technician from Milner claimed that the only thing that was wrong was some loose valves and put some Freon in the air condition unit. The air conditioner unit was run for a couple more weeks in September. IN April 04 we attempted to sue our unit only to find out that it was out of Freon and only blowing out cool air. It was never fixed from September of last year. The next morning I contact Milner Airco regarding the problem. I spoke to a Tammy Mullins who pulled my file and we discussed what had been services with the unit. We indicated that h4e coil was replaced in May 02, and what the service tech told us in Sept 03 regarding the loose valves. Informed Tammy that the home builder asked them to come out and fix the problem in September and obviously it was not fixed because we were having the same problem.
She informed me that they would charge $94 diagnostic charge for them to come out and see what the problem is. In the meantime my husband was in contact with the home builder who contacted Milner and asked them to come out because the problem was not fixed from last year. Milner gave them a hard time also. When the tech came out he went straight up to the coil upstairs and found that there was a leak in the coil. Now they are claiming that they never replaced the coil that they just told me that there was a leak in the coil and put some Freon in the unit.
This problem should have been detected in September when the technician came out and was told to fix the problem. Now they are trying to tell us that the coil is under warranty but their service is not and it is going to cost us $600 for labor. This is a rip off. It seems as if they waited for our warranty for service to run out and then tell us what the problem is. I am in the process of writing a letter to the President of the company and to our action 9 team. They claim they fixed the problem but in actuality they didnt. Signed, Angela J J, Angela
