DO NOT PURCHASE A WARRANTY FROM STAINSAFE! It is worthless. Now that I have had a problem, I did some checking and found that they have an unsatisfactory record with the Better Business Bureau for denying claims, poor customer service, and unresolved complaints. Long story short: I bought a chair and sofa and paid $149.99 extra for a Stainsafe warranty. The seams on the chair separated, so I called within 5 days as the warranty said. While on the phone, I inpsected the sofa carefully and found a tear in the decking under the seat cushion. The girl on the line took all my info, said someone would call me within 5-7 days. No one did. I called back. The guy on the line said they were having trouble finding a repair technician, to give them a week. I waited 2 weeks, no one called. I called back. This person said the other two should have told me that they needed more information from me. I faxed a copy of the tags as requested, and she said someone should call me back. No one did. I called again. This person said the others should have told me that the claim was denied. He said since I reported damage to more than one item, that wasn't normal wear and tear so my warranty was no longer any good. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He refused. I asked him to have someone else call me back, he said he'd try, but since my claim was denied, no one probably would (his words!) No one did. I found an email address on my warranty and requested someone contact me. No one replied. I got on the internet and found a website with another phone number. I left a message, and, surprisingly, someone called back. However, she wasn't interested in hearing what had happened up to that point, she simply informed me that they would not repair anything. I told her to forget about the sofa for the moment, that I had a warranty and receipt in front of me that said if the seams separate on my chair, report the damage within 5 days and they will repair it.

She said it didn't matter because I found damage on more than one item. I asked if there was a procedure for disputing this. She actually said no, that she was a supervisor and that there was no one else to talk to and nothing else I could do! I can't believe a company can survive with customer service that is so deplorable. I'm filing a complaint with the BBB, but it looks like they already have more than their share of other complaints. SO, a word of advice, if it's a warranty the salesperson offers from Stainsafe, don't do it!!!

I had a very similar situation happen and the representative from stain safe put me on hold. They came back and said since I was reporting damage to more than one item in my phone call that none of my requests for repair would be covered. They gave me the name of a repair person to fix my furniture and pay for it. This company has comitted fraud as far as I am concerned.
