I fell we get ripped off when you pay full price for an item when that item has been marked down. I have written the company before regarding this matter, and did not get an answer. Regular customers of these stores knows, they all don't do mark downs at the same time. So when that happens customers could be paying more for an item then it really cost.

This also happens when an item is put back on the floor from layaway or from a return. There should be a way that when a style number is keyed or scanned into the cash register, it would give the current sale price. How do we know it's marked down, we see the item marked down at another store. But, they do not have your size. The savvy shopper will start checking other stores and may find the item at another store but it's still at full price. Also, most of us know how to read the tag. If you know how to read the tag you know what week the merchandise came in.

Some of your stores will gladly check the price for you; some will with reluctance and some will tell you "we don't do that" (Birmingham, Al, and Chicago, Ill). I do know and understand that a store can receive the same exact merchandise in January and again in March. I know the merchandise in this case receives a different style number and I understand why.

I also know and understand that one store could receive an item in January and another store will receive the same item in May and will receive a different style number. I also understand about when items are marked down.

Apparently they have some vehicle (mark down machine) in place for stores too check the price of an item for markdowns; so if that technology could be incorporated into their cash registers, we would be getting the most for the maxx.
