I bought a troy built tractor 4 years ago from the factory for approx. $3,000.. Within the first year the engine had to be replaced. It was blowing out so much smoke you couldn't even see.

Luckily Briggs & Stratton stood behind it. The very next year the transmisson started slipping toward the end of the season. When I took it in to be checked the very next year the repair shop had a good laugh.

They said it was a sealed transmission and would need to be replaced. He suggested not to as the price would be about $1,000. When I contacted Troy built they wouldn't even respond to my e-mails. I for one will never buy another Troy built product
