Verizon Wireless - cancelled service - not willing to pay final bill due to unfair charges from Verizon

From:

I have had alot of trouble with miscellaneous and fraudulent charges from my Verizon Wireless cell phone. I cancelled my service, and have now let them know that I am not willing to pay my final bill because they have not credited me with the credits they promised, and have no record of them.

The people I speak to in their customer service department are not allowed to give confirmation numbers for the credits they promise, nor are they allowed to send emails or any other form of communiation confirming the credits they promise.

I would like for you to send me any recent information you have regarding Verizon Wireless customers that are unhappy, as I intend to turn this over to an attorney because I am sooooo tired of being jacked around by companies like this.

Verizon Wireless are extortionists. The have extremely unfair and obfuscated billing practices. I recently switched my account from Verizon to Sprint. I was charged a huge overage for minutes based on a back-proration of my monthly minute allotment because I did not switch precisely on my billing cycle date. This is sneaky, unfair, underhanded, manipulative, and completely against the nature of the contract. In addition, I spoke to a Verizon rep before switching and he mentioned nothing about it. I do not recommend Verizon simply because of their abusive billing practices.
