UPS - package shipment from Longs Drugs, Tulare, CA to street address in Kansas - package not delivered on time UPS - package shipment from Longs Drugs, Tulare, CA to street address in Kansas - package not delivered on time
From:
I mailed homemade cookies, Nov 21,2003, to a family member in the midwest. I was told the delivery would be on Thanksgiving day. Three times I asked the Longs clerk if she was sure they would be delivered that day and was told "Yes". The cookies were NOT delivered the day they were supposed to be, if they had been someone would have been home to recieve them.
The cookies were taken to the address on the Monday following. The person I mailed them to had already gone to work and the cookies were not left. A call was made to UPS and explained that the person leaves at 2:30pm for work.
He asked if the pkg could be delivered before and he was told No but he could come get it. The person explained that he had no car and was unable to come after the pkg. UPS told him that was too bad and he would have to come for the pkg or it would stay in their office until it was shipped back to me, in Tulare,Ca. I picked up the pkg at Longs Drugs in Tulare the day after Christmas.
Longs refunded my postage however I was told that I needed the UPS employee's name in Kansas before I could file a claim. I was also told that UPS does not like to insure food. I was not told this at the time of the mailing and the pkg was insured for $25. Cookies are not cheap to make and of course they were ruined by the time I got them back.
My relative cannot remember who he talked to so I cannot file a claim. This is not the first time I have had problems with UPS and will not ever use them again. As far as I am concerned UPS cannot be trusted.
