Memorex DVD player MVD2037 - broke after 6 days of use - spent over an hour trying to reach customer service rep. on the phone

I bought a Memorex DVD player model MVD2037 at Target on 12/21/03 and it died today 12/27/03. I spent over an hour trying to get a customer service representative on the phone. The first phone number hung up on me after a half an hour and the second customer service number forwarded me to a voice mail box that was full after a half an hour.

My DVD player that has been playing DVD's for a week now has up and decided that all of the DVD's are unknown now. I should have known something was up when I searched the product model and the only thing brought up was a five disk Memorex DVD player and mine is a single.

I was going to buy the Memorex 128MB Mp3 player but since I'm having so much trouble trying to get help with this product and after reading the reviews of the other product, all I can say is stay away from Memorex. I remember when it was a credible name. Its a shame that it's come to this. I will be returning the player tomorrow and taking my business elsewhere.
