classic closeouts.com - classiccloseouts.com - used phone number provided to attempt to sell trial order - unable to contact by phone

From:

This year, I used mypoints.com. I have always used them and never had any trouble with the companies that they have on their sight, but I want to warn everyone about classic closeouts.com. My complaint is only about classic closeouts.com.

1. Classic closeouts.com asks for the typical info. when you order. This includes a phone number. I discovered that they use this phone number to try to sell you a trial offer....upon which they can be very insistent. I had to be overly direct and tell them that I was not interested.

2. They also do not provide a way to contact them by phone...although they can contact you to sell. They send emails with definitive statements and do not allow you to respond.

#### for instance....they adjusted my order with an email only. They did not ask for a response to my agreement of the issue. It basically stated that one of my items was not available for shipping and therefore would not be sent.

The problem: The item that they chose to not send was a promo, buy one get one. They sent the full priced item and adjusted my sale so the free one would not be sent. So they charged me full price and saved their company money?? Why did they not adjust the other item to half price, since they were the same items. I sent them an email with a concern, but they did not respond. That was on 12/20/03. Today is 12/27/03. I have emailed them again. I have also requested a phone number to contact them.

3. Most of the items were Christmas gifts. It took 12 days for delivery!!! Not once did they contact me to tell me the status of my order. I would check their website daily, and it would say that my order had not shipped yet. In fact, it said that after I received my shipment.

4. Return: They give 30days from order date to return. This would be okay, if it was from date of delivery, but it really limits a person, if you are trying to give Christmas gifts.

5. If it's damaged???? You better let them know within 48 hours of shipment. (They do not share this, but it can be found when you go to return it on their website.)

Well, okay....I did not take it out of the package before I gave it and now I know it's damaged. It's been 5 days???

Needless to say...they are not customer service oriented in many ways, and I want to let as many people know as I can.
