On 11/3/03, I was sold a magazine subscription to Popular Mechanics, but cancelled it on 11/4/03, post-marked that day which makes it well within the allotted cancellation time. I called a week later, asking when ACI will receive their receipt from their seller, "whenever they get it", I was told. I, too, was duped into buying a subscription to "help" a person win points. I should have gone with my gut feeling right away, as should any of you.

I called again on 12/23/03, and they said they got their seller's receipt (never telling me when they got it), but that they are under "new management" and that I would receive my refund in 3 weeks.

It has been increasingly difficult to get in touch with a real person, and the phone is always busy or directing me to a message box that is always full. I do not trust them to leave my phone number and address and name (they could just block the number).

I am a college student and need all the money I can get, and this business is nothing more than a scam. They have no interest in refunding you.

I contacted the Better Business Bureau and I urge every one of you to do the same. Just fill out the complaint form with the business information, and keep up on all the times you've called, and always ask for the name of whomever customer service rep. you are talking to.
