DON SEELYE FORD DEALERSHIP/FORD CREDIT/FORD TRUCKS

HAVING LESS THAN PERFECT CREDIT, MY HUSBAND HAD PROBLEMS GETTING FINANCED FOR A TRUCK HE NEEDED FOR HIS SMALL BUSINESS. THE FINANCIAL PERSON AT DON SEELYE FORD OFFERED A CREDIT RE-BUILDING PROGRAM WITH FORD CREDIT WHICH WOULD HELP HIM OBTAIN THE TRUCK WHILE HELP RE-BUILDING HIS CREDIT.

MONTHS AFTER HAVING THE TRUCK AND NOT RECEIVING ANY CHANGES IN THE AMOUNT OF THE MONTHLY PAYMENTS, AS WAS EXPLAINED TO MY HUSBAND AS HOW THIS CREDIT REBUILDING PROGRAM WAS TO WORK.

WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP REGARDING THIS MATTER WHO COMPLETELY DENIED EVER HEARING OF SUCH A PROGRAM. WE WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SPOKE TO THE USED CAR MANAGER WHO COMPLETELY DENIED OF ANY SUCH PROGRAM. WE CALLED FORD CREDIT MORE THEN ONCE AND INQUIRED ABOUT A CREDIT REBUILDING PROGRAM AND WERE TOLD EVERY TIME THAT THERE WASN'T SUCH A THING.

WE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU WHO CONTACTED DON SEELYE FORD GENERAL MANAGER WHO DENIED THIS PROGRAM EVER EXSISTED ; AND EVEN THOUGH THE PERSON WHO WROTE UP THE PAPER WORK FOR THIS LOAN NO LONGER WORKED THERE, HE TOO DENIED EVER TELLLING MY HUSBAND ABOUT SUCH A PROGRAM.

WE TRIED REFINANCING THE TRUCK WITH A SMALLER INTEREST RATE SINCE WE WERE NOW STUCK PAYING 21.95%. FORD CREDIT TOLD BOTH MY HUSBAND AND I ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS THAT THEY DID NOT PARTICIPATE IN ANY TYPE OF REFINANCING FOR EXSISTING LOANS.

AND WE COULD NOT GET FINANCED THROUGH A BANK OR A CREDIT UNION BECAUSE WE NOW HAD NEGATIVE EQUITY.

THE ONLY THING WE HAD FOR A TRADE IN WAS MY HUSBAND'S 1995 FORD F-150 EDDIE BAUER EDITION WHICH HE STILL OWED SOME MONEY ON. THE DEALERSHIP OFFERED HIM THE AMOUNT HE OWED ON HIS TRUCK AND SAID IT WOULD BE THEN "A WASH"--HE OWED $6,000.00 ON IT AND THEY SAID THAT IS WHAT THEY WOULD GIVE HIM ON IT SO HIS EXSISTING LOAN WOULD THEN BE PAID OFF.

HOWEVER, THE DEALERSHIIP PAID OFF THE EXSISTING LOAN, TACKED IT ON THE NEW LOAN AND TOOK OUR TRUCK AND ON THE LOAN APPLICATION SAID WE WERE ALLOWED $100.00 FOR THE TRADE IN. WHEN WE APPROACHED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS THEY WOULD NOT AT ANY TIME PULL THE FILE REGARDING THIS SALE AND SAID THAT WE HAD SIGNED A CONTRACT SO WE WERE WASTING OUR TIME.

ON DECEMBER 16TH MY HUSBAND SPOKE TO A FORD CREDIT SUPERVISOR WHO TOLD HIM THERE IS SUCH A THING AS A CREDIT RE-BUILDING PROGRAM THROUGH FORD CREDIT AND THAT ALL FORD DEALERSHIPS ARE AWARE OF THIS. SHE ALSO WENT ON TO SAT THAT FORD CREDIT DOES INDEED REFINANCE EXSISTING LOANS AND THAT WE WOULD("WOULD!") HAVE BEEN APPROVED FOR SUCH A THING.

AND THAT FOR ALL THESE MONTHS THAT WE HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING TO MAKE $867.00 PAYMENTS WE COULD HAVE BEEN MAKING PAYMENTS IN THE $400.00 RANGE. BUT BECAUSE OUR LAST 4 PAYMENTS HAVE BEEN LATE THAT THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY THAT WE WOULD QUALIFY FOR ANY TYPE OF REFINANCING NOW.

AND DID I FORGET TO TELL YOU WHY THE LAST 4 PAYMENTS HAVE BEEN LATE, LET ME INDULGE YOU. THIS 2000 F-350 DIESEL 4X4 THAT MY HUSBAND DEPENDS ON FOR HIS SMALL BUSINESS HAS COST US OVER $2000.00 IN REPAIRS IN THE PAST 3 MONTHS, AND OVER $4,000.00 SINCE HE PURCHASED THE USED VEHICLE IN AUGUST OF 2002.

WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, THE BALL JOINT, THE WHEEL BEARING, THE WATER PUMP AND NOW THE TRUCK CONSTANTLY DIES OUT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.

MY COMPLAINTS ARE ABOUT THE DON SEELYE FORD DEALERSHIP FOR THEIR DISHONESTY ABOUT THE LOAN AND THEIR INTEGRITY FOR SELLING SUCH A LEMON; THE FORD CREDIT COMPANY FOR THEIR DISHONESTY ABOUT OTHER OPTIONS WE COULD HAVE HAD THAT THEY DENIED US ; AND ABOUT THE FORD MANUFACTURED WHO BUILT SUCH A LEMON. THANK YOU,

D.L. BULTMAN
