After what I thought was careful consideration, I submitted an order through starnamer.com to name a star in honor of my 13 year old grandson who passed away due to injuries from an auto accident in June. After placing my order, I noticed some things that did not seem right on their web site and tried to cancel the order.

If I purchase a dress from J C Penneys and am not happy with it, I can return it as long as I have my receipt. I attempted to cancel this order right after I placed it. What a rip off this company is. I hope other people who are trying to memorialize a loved one do not use this company.

This is the rude message I received: Cancelling Your Order We try to make our products as attractive as possible so that they satisfy their recipients and their givers. We work hard to produce this high quality personalized gift for you. However, because they are personalized and custom to you, after we work to make them, they are only of value to you. These products are not like toasters that can be returned and resold. As such, we cannot accept returns and will not credit you back. It is against our policy and no amount of frustration on your part will change this policy. We try to ship our products to you as fast as possible but sometimes our customers order our product for delivery for a special occassion. We make no money back guarantee if your occassion has been missed.

We also understand that you may have changed your mind shortly after you placed an order and expect that the order can be cancelled. However, the way our production process works, we can not stop an order once you have placed it. You made a decision to buy this product and you must honor that decision. We hope you understand but we will not assist you in receiving a refund. We might want to suggest that you find someone else to receive the star. We will send you a new certificate for a small nominal charge. Please click back on your browser and select CERTIFICATE ERROR CORRECTION. We reserve the right to report any credit card cancellations as a debt owed to our member credit bureaus. This will reflect on your credit record.
