I recently sent this letter to Vacations To Go - Vacationstogo.com - (the travel agent) and to Holland America Cruise Lines about our experience on our last cruise. As of this date I haven't heard anything from either party. I assume they just don't care if their customers had a bad experience on their cruise lines as long as they got paid and everybody got their commissions.

Thank You

Terry Taylor

Dear Natalie, My wife and I recently cruised on the Veendam out of Tampa Florida, November 1st thru November 8th with four other couples. The ship was magnificent and the food and service superb. However it was the worst cruise experience we have ever had.

Our state room was unbearably hot. We could not enjoy time with our friends because by the time we were falling asleep from sheer exhaustion, around 6 or 7 in the morning, our friends were preparing to disembark at our ports.

We would try and get a couple of hours sleep and meet up with them later. We complained daily and they worked on it daily but never seemed to get it fixed. Thursday evening on the 6th we found a note saying the air had been fixed and it was 73.6 degrees in our room.

This may have been the temperature coming out of the vent but the room never got that cool. This was still not tolerable. On formal nights we were totally soaked with perspiration from having to dress in such hot conditions. We talked to other passengers that had the same problems with their air conditioning but they were moved to other rooms, however we were never offered another room, or any other option. My wife and I consider this situation unacceptable for a luxury liner such as the Veendam and the Holland American Cruise Lines. Thank You for Your Time Terry and Patty Taylor
