Metro R.V., Burbank, CA - upset about repair and repair charges Metro R.V., Burbank, CA - upset about repair and repair charges
From: Dean McAdams [ Email User Consumer ]
Metro R.V., Inc. of Burbank, California charged me over $4,000.00 to repair and service my motor home. They charged $200.00 to tell me my Kholer Generator was too old to be serviced and no carburetor rebuild kits were available.
Bonner Rentals in Tujunga made one phone call to Oliphant Bros. in the San Fernando Valley and immediately obtained the "non-existent carburetor rebuilding kit." I paid $500 for Metro to diagnose that my engine was overheating, my regular mechanic could find no overheating problem.
I paid $2,000.00 to have my house D.C. electrical system repaired and it still does not hold a charge longer than 15 minutes. There was a senior citizen complaining about his treatment by Metro at the same time and my best friend who was with me at the time said, "I can tell these guys (Metro) are used to treating their customers badly." I had to call the Burbank Police Department to have Metro release my vehicle after my friend served them with my Burbank Superior Court Small Claims Lawsuit.
Metro actually threw the complaint back at me as if they could simply refuse service of process in their typically patronizing and rude manner. (Wrong!). My hearing against Metro R.V., Inc. will be in the above court on 1-20-04. Metro then tried to pay me a mere $200.00 dollars to sign off and waive all of my rights to sue them for their fraudulent practices, deceptive billing and incompetent workmanship.
Metro originally wanted to charge me over $7,000.00 dollars for an un-necessary brake job, patching, transmission service, tune-up, washing, reflectors and other jobs that my mechanic performed for $1,491.00. Metro wanted to charge me $150.00 to smog check my motor home and my regular mechanic had it smog checked for $60.00!

I saw a 34ft Fleetwood Storm they had advertised on their website. I mad an appointment to see it. When I arrived I was told it was on its way from the Santa Ana location. The Saleman told me how nice the unit was. I was asked to fill out a credit app. to speed things up. The RV never made to Burbank. The sales team showed me evry other RV on the lot. I was only interested in the storm. I was informed a few days later that the owner had promised to have someone bring the RV to Burbank the next day. The saleman began to really talk the Storm that I was interested in down. He informed me that the Storm had a couple of roof leaks that would have to be repaired. It took a few days before I realized that Metro had already sold the RV prior to checking my credit. It was only when I told the saleman I had no interest in any other RV that he told me the Rv had been sold. I saw the RV posted on their website two months later. I called using another name and was told the RV was located at the Santa Ana location. I was told to come in fill out a credit app. I've recently purchased an RV from All Valley RV in Acton. They have the overall best customer service. I just bought a motorhome last month and was about to take it to Metro RV for service. I'm in Burbank. Could you point me to a mechanic that is more honest?
