Delta Airlines - told there is a $ 100 fee to change date of flight

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on December 27, 2002:

RE: Delta Airlines - told there is a $ 100 fee to change date of flight

Delta wants $100.00 to change the date of a flight, when they've already told me that the same flight is available on the date I want and that there are seats available.

No one at Delta can tell me exactly what this fee is for, other than that "it's policy." It seems that the consumer is of no interest to Delta. Their pilots are being taken off of airplanes for being intoxicated, yet they don't want to protect their consumer base!

My daughter will be making many flights over the next four years while she is going to college 1800 miles away. We will fly with Northwest from now on, who allowed me to make a change on the spot with no such fees.
