RE: Standard Parking, Huntington Bank Complex, Columbus, OH - lack of service and poor treatment experience An unanswered letter written to Standard Parking: To whom it may concern, I parked at a lot managed by Standard Parking located at the Huntington Bank Complex in Columbus, Ohio on the evening of December, 10, 2002. I am very unhappy about the lack of service and poor treatment I received by your company. At 4pm I parked in a Huntington Bank garage and proceeded to go to a business event at a building within the Huntington Bank complex. The invitation to the event stated that parking would be validated by the host for the garage located there. I was a bit confused about the wording on the garage marquee because one sign said Huntington Center, one said Huntington Plaza and then there was a generic sign that just said Huntington Parking.
Because I was unsure, I located an Standard Parking employee and asked if that was indeed one of the lots that I would receive validated parking. I asked him a total of three times just to make sure because he spoke English very poorly. All three times he indicated that the garage where I parked in would accept the host's validation pass. I was shocked to find out when I left at 9 pm that the garage where I parked would not accept my validation pass. The attendant there explained that even though both garages were Huntington's and both were serviced by Standard Parking, that the validation pass would not be honored there. I paid the parking fee and left. I noticed that the same attendant who earlier told me that the validation would be honored was working in a near-by booth. I asked him why he assured me that the garage would accept my validation when he knew it would not. He blamed me for not understanding what he meant and said I would know better the next time I parked there. I feel that I parked properly, exactly as directed by one of your employees. I was expecting validated parking and instead was charged $15.00. And because of this, I feel that I am due a refund of the full amount. It can be sent to me at: Michael Elicson Columbus, Ohio 43206 Thank you, Michael Elicson cc:complaints.com

I know it's the principle, but seems like a lot of work for $15.
