My 1998 Malibu ran fairly flawless for three years. I thought I was the only one who got a good car until I started repairing and replacing parts. The heating fan control went faulty setting 1 and 2 didnt work, the blower fan was replaced, the front hub and bearings assemblies were replaced, the rack an pinion steering was replaced, the tail lights leaked and rusted this was not replaced because I didnt feel like spending another $450 for this part, oil was noticed leaking from the underside of the engine, the engine coolant was leaking in the engine and the reservoir had to be topped up every couple days, the anti-lock breaking was activating causing the car to roll forward when you had your foot fully on the break. I now consider myself lucky I was in a car accident that totaled the Malibu - I only suffered bumps and bruises. My next car will be an import!
