RE: Currys TV purchase and warranty by Mastercare

Attached is a copy of my complaint letter to Currys which appears to be falling on deaf ears. Basically the warranty purchased last year together with the television is not worth the paper it was written on and Currys and Mastercare are passing the buck with regards to who has responsibility to me as a consumer. Additionally they appear to have no regard to adverse publicity and despite the fact that I have enlisted the assistance of Watchdog - Mastercare have advised that 'they have no problem with Watchdog'. Has anybody else experienced a similar problem?? Sarah Simpson

I also purchased a TV from Curry's which proved when plugged in that the teletex did not work. I then spent three months trying to get Curry's and mastercare to put this fault right, but in the end had to return the set to the store myself. My credit rating has suffered over this as HFC Bank have black listed me for not paying for this totally useless item. Even with HFC sending a independent engineer to look at the set and confirm that it was faulty. Curry's refused to accept this. I am now in the process of sueing both HFC and Curry's in the County court here in Worthing to clear my name and get my payments back and the delivery charge of £37.
