July 24, 2002 Re: Ameriquest Mortgage Company Dear Ladies and Gentlemen: Within the past nine months, I contacted your agency in order to discuss a negative situation which arose as a result of a refinance of my home with Ameriquest Mortgage Company. Since the time of my last correspondence with your agency, I am pleased to report that Ameriquest and I have resolved our

differences in a professional manner and I no longer have any negative issues with Ameriquest. Both Ameriquest and I are satisfied with the final outcome and we have put the entire matter to rest. Please close any files you may have pending on this issue. Thank you,

RE: Ameriquest Mortgage Follow Up

This is a follow up to my previous complaints with Ameriquest Mortgage. I received a letter from the Better Business Bureau indicating that they were unable to receive a response from Ameriquest Mortgage pertaining to my complaint. Their letter reads as follows: "The Better Business Bureau has been unable to obtain a response for you concerning your complaint you had filed with us. We sent the company (Ameriquest Mortgage) your complaint, follow up letters and attempted to contact the company by telephone with no response. Bureaus must depend upon cooperation of firms in settling customer disputes.

The Bureau's records will reflect the lack of response by the company as the Bureau reports unanswered complaints. These reports are available to the public. Please let us know of the outcome of any further steps you plan to take or if the company contacts you and makes a settlement. We will adjust our record and report to reflect the company's performance." It just goes to prove that they obviously know they are wrong and are trying to avoid any mediation. Why would any company fail to respond if they did no wrong? If they think I'll just give up and go away, they need to guess again!

RE: Ameriquest Mortgage - Follow Up To 12-30-01 Complaint

A follow up to my Complanint of the Day 12-30-01 pertaining to Ameriquest Mortgage --- In an effort to prove my original intentions to American Express that I wanted to pay off my accounts in full, I requested copies of the checks from the title company that were used to pay off my accounts.

I wanted to see what account number was printed on the payoff documents. My closing papers clearly state the correct account. It's somewhat amazing that, for some reason, the title company no longer has any record of my loan.

Ameriquest has decided not to forward any of the information pertaining to the account to my attention. And, they have not returned a call or responded to any of my letters for the last 2 1/2 months. My question is this ... if there is no record of the transaction, does that mean that my mortgage doesn't exist and that the property is mine free and clear??

The Better Business Bureau and the Illinois Attorney General have contacted Ameriquest on my behalf and have not received any response either. The representative from the BBB indicated that once a business has an unsatisfactory record with them as Ameriquest does, they rarely answer any inquiries. She said that they already have a poor rating and they have nothing else to lose!

Legally, they are not obliged to respond to the BBB. But, the Attorney General always expects a response. More to come later ...

RE: Ameriquest Mortgage Company - 7 weeks to pay off mortgage, poor service

I refinanced with Ameriquest to get cash out to pay some personal debt. They took almost 7 weeks to pay off my old mortgage, got me reported to the credit bureaus, paid off the WRONG credit card account and wouldn't do a thing for 3 months to correct the situation.

They still haven't done a thing to help. Because of it, my AMEX was cancelled and I lost use of 280,000 bonus points.

Ameriquest claims they did "no wrong" and that they acted in a profssional manner. They wouldn't even place a call to my creditors to try to help me resolve this issue. It's off to court we go!! Please, for your own good, stay away from them.

They also have an unsatisfactory rating on the BBB web site! Check it out ... I started out with an Ilinois location and it's the regional headquarters in Apple Valley, MN that I ended up dealing with. Joe
