RE: Mediacom, Mobile, AL - 3 months to fix outage of internet connection
On September 26 2001 I switched from Comcast to Mediacom due to relocation. I was with Comcast @home for almost three years with never a complaint and one outage. As of December 12, 2001 I was yet receiving an internet connection.
That's right, zilch, nada, no online status at all. It took a letter to the BBB to get some action and then that still didn't solve the problem. They continued sending out technicians who did nothing and knew nothing. One time a T.V. tech came out!!!
Finally, last week, someone with a brain came out and found the problem, a return terminal was bad. I mean, how hard was that to find? It only took three months. And now that I have online internet (that is when it isn't offline, due to technical difficulties) the service is very slow.
The technician told me that Mediacom has a problem with too many customers on one card. I double checked this with their support technicians and two verified that this was an ongoing problem. I don't understand why the FCC is not involved with the problems and lack of service offered to its customers.
If I had a choice, I would drop these guys in a minute - but Comcast is not on my street. Thou I am giving thought to dropping cable internet and trying DSL. Anything has to be better than these guys.
Thanks for the opportunity to complain about this company.
