99 Silverado Clunks

I have a 1999 Silverado 4X4 that the "General" can`t/won`t fix. There is a loud, bad clunk every time the transmission shifts from 2nd to 3rd.

I have had the truck into the shop 7 or 8 times now with the same problem. They have put in a new trany and rebuilt the transfer case.

They changed the transfer case fluid 3 times and put a heavier weight fluid in it before they rebuilt it. Each time I got the truck back the cluck was better but the clunk is still very much there.

The dealership told me the last time that they fixed the clunk I was complaining about and the clunk I would hear would be the one that was supposed to be there. What`s up with that? Brand new truck and it clunks as if the trany is ready to give out. Total crap!

They wanted to fill the drive shaft with foam saying that would cure the problem. They also said that because I have a rear slider I would hear more noises.

Have you heard anything more stupid than that? The reason I posted this message is that this problem has been going on since Nov 99 and it is now Oct 2000 and still have the problem. I am hoping that I am not the only person with this problem.

I don't mean that in a bad sense, just that if Chevy is aware of more than just my problem, than they might take me more seriously.

If anybody else is and/or has, I would really like to find out how your problem was fixed or if you have a similar problem as I do.

Anybody`s reply/help would be great.
