RE: 1994 ford taurus gl transmission

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN;

I HAVE A MAJOR COMPLAINT RE: MY FORD TAURUS WAGON'S TRANSMISSION. WHEN I

PURCHASED MY CAR I BELIEVED THAT FORD PUT OUT A WELL MANUFACTURED AUTOMOBILE.

I HAVE EXPERIENCED A FEW MINOR PROBLEMS ( GAS GAUGE QUIT & TACHOMETER QUIT )

NOW THESE ARE MINOR PROBLEMS & I HAVE LEARNED TO LIVE WITH THEM AS I AM

RETIRED & ON A FIXED INCOME.

NOW I HAVE JUST GOTTEN MY FORD BACK FROM THE

TRANSMISSION SHOP TO THE TUNE OF $ 2700:00 . TO SAY THE LEAST THIS REALLY

UPSET ME BUT THE ICING ON THE CAKE WAS THAT THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WAS AN

(ALUMINUM) FORWARD THRUST PISTON THAT CRACKED & CONSEQUENTLY CAUSED OTHER

PARTS TO FAIL.

WHAT REALLY BURNS ME IS THE FACT THAT FORD WOULD PUT THIS

CHEAPER PART IN WHAT I BELIEVED TO BE A SUPERIOR AUTOMOBILE. THE REPLACEMENT

PART (STAINLESS STEEL ) COST ONLY A BIT OVER $ 40:00 & COULD HAVE SAVED

MYSELF & I'M SURE COUNTLESS OTHER CONSUMERS A LOT OF GRIEF & MONEY.

I KNOW YOU ARE THINKING , WELL, ITS A 1994 SO WHAT DO I EXPECT. WELL,

WHAT I EXPECTED FROM FORD MOTOR CO, WAS A CAR THAT WAS PROBLEM FREE ( EXCEPT

FOR MINOR GLITCHES ) FOR 200,000 TO 300,OOO MILES.

I MAINTAIN MY FORD VERY WELL & THE ENGINE IS STILL GOING STRONG, NO OIL CONSUMPTION ETC. MY SUGGESTION IS THAT YOUR COMPANY START USING THE BETTER PART & CONTINUE

TO KEEP YOUR REPUTATION AS A QUALITY CAR MANUFACTURER. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME ROGER J. FELDMAN
