Complaint

I efiled my income tax return with Jackson Hewitt Tax service about two weeks ago. When I got home I

read through my paperwork, reading the fine print and discovered I had signed my rights over to the

Santa Barbara Bank and Trust. I called Santa Barbara bank and Trust and informed them that the only

money that could be deducted from my income tax check that was being mailed to them was the fees

for filing and handling my efile income tax return.

i was informed that if I owed any other ral lender, they would take it out of my income tax return less

filing and handling fees.I informed Bank and Trust of Santa Barbara on 2-26-2001 that was stopping Power of Attorney to them and they , could not pay any other RAL OUT OF MY REFUND CHECK.! Today, I emailed them in writing on March i, 2001 in writing withdraying my Power of Attorney to the Bank and Trust of Santa Barbara.Address above .Giving them permission only to deduct filing and handling fees.

I also called Jackson Hewitt. They said it was out of their hands, that I had signed the paper.

Later today I was informed by the Bank and trust of Santa Barbara, that they had an agreement with the other RAL banks and they had taken $1480.00 out of my income tax return and had paid a back debt and were sending me the balance after fees.I owed Santa Barbara Babk and Trust nothing. The does not concern them. I notified the IRS and they told me this is not their policy it was a civil matter.Their responsibility was to get the refund to the taxpayer. I am turning this matter over to my attorney. I thought this might help other taxpayers in similar situations I understand I owe a just debt, but it is between me and the one I owe not the Santa Barbara Bank and Trust! Jackson Hewitt did a good job with my taxes but they are dealing with the wrong bank.

I would have been much better off mailing my income tax in rather than efiling it.
