Dear Complaints. This is not specifically about a toilet, but more about the home warranty company that I selected. I recently purchased a home and as a gift my real estate agent purchased a home warranty policy of my choosing for me. I had had no previous experience with Fidelity National Home Warranty Company so my decision was based solely upon comapring their brochure with comparable ones. Well the day after the close of escrow one of the toilets stopped working and we found out that the exterior water heater was "irrepirable". First of all it took three weeks for them to send someone out. When the tech came he said that we were not covered and left. According to the terms of coverage we are covered at the close of escrow and any conditions that we (buyer), seller or the agent is not aware of. There is no way we could have known that the hot water heater was not working seeing as how the house was vacant and the gas had been turned off. P.G.&E did also come out before Fidelity sent out their "tech". But he suggested that we contact our home warranty company because the issue was more detailed than just a pilot lighting. Fidelity National Home Warranty is not standing behind their policy and they have actually been rude. Anyone reading this letter please be thorough in your home warranty shopping and please do not use Fidelity National.
