My problem began in December 99 when I put in worldnet through At&t for my home computer. It took me 2 hrs a day for a solid week and spoke with 10 reps who kept telling me I was never an AT&T customer, needless to say I had been a loyal At&t customer for 12 years!!!!! Well I kept getting just a bill for my internet service and not long distance, I still had long distance mind you but I couldn't understand why I was not getting a bill!! Out of the blue in March-April I keep getting this bill for my closed out account so I called everytime that I received one of these bills and James told me oh don't worry about it just disregard the notice your account is fine!! I spoke with Beverly in collections who didn't know what was going on or even what the bill was for!!! A closed out account was all they said, I explained to them that I still had long distance and worldnet and that I did not have a closed out account so Beverly put me through to 6 different people who kept saying that my account was fine!! So finally Dianne, Beverly and a lady from personal was on a comference call with me for 2 1/2 hrs this is May 26, 2000 I have been calling them and spending hrs on the phone with them for months!!! Well Dianne explained to me that my account had been closed and set up as business, HELLO! I have a residential account which I still have and is up to date and running!! Well she apologized said she credited the amount and that everything was fine and I asked her to please check and see why I had not been receiving a long distance bill!! she came back and stated that there was NOTHING outstanding!! I told her of my problems and that I had tried to find out about this bill for months and was told not to worry about it to disregard!! Well after our 2 1/2 hour conversation she finally said everything was fine and that she would stake her job on it!!! I went to call my son long distance and I HAD NO LONG DISTANCE CAN YOU BELEIVE THIS. I was so upset I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdaown!! So I caled back and told them I WANT A MANAGER NOW!! The manager gets on the line and says well you have money in collections and was treated like a PAST DUE CUSTOMER!! Well I told him what Dianne had told me, well I am sorry mam but you had the service and you have to pay BEFORE WE TURN YOUR LONG DISTANCE BACK ON!!! I had been calling for months and told not to worry about it that it was an error on thier part!!! And I know as a customer I obligations and I tried but as for their service they have an obligation too. And I think they OWE me for the harrassment!! Well I am no longer with At&t and I keep receiving this bill and as far as I am concerned I will have my day in court before I will pay it!! Beleive me I have told everyone and they are looking into other services too. Thanks, Very upset with At&t
