I've never missed a security payment ever. Yet the accounting department at PROTECTION ONE has not credited my account for several payments over the past two years. I finally received a notice with request for backpayments. I've contacted the company on numerous occasions. I was told they could do nothing without the cancelled checks. Well after much inconvenience obtaining hardcopy documention of the computer checks from the bank, I FedExed and confirmed arrival of all the checks (they all cleared) to the billings and collection department supervisor, who has apparently turned my case over to a collection agency (my credit is sterling), and I still am not getting responses from the company. The collections department apparently turned it over to accounting for "research." It's been a nightmare trying to resolve this issue. I dare not pay off the whole account or this issue will never get resolved. Meanwhile,I keep sending in monthly payments on time. HELP! This company's customer service, accounting, and collection departments need a shakeup. It's often hard to get through on the phone and the company has never responded to my email. PROTECTION ONE

Addendum [to my previosly posted message - above]:

I tried to cc: email a copy of my previous complaint to Protection One for attention. Unfortunately, it was returned. The company's website: http://www.protectionone.com posts the following For customer service, orders, billing and account inquiries call, 1-800-GET-HELP or email us at Email User

It is interesting that the email contact has been discontinued even though still on the website. A company official in customer service confirmed this tonight. All other email addresses are internal and not given out. My frustrations with this company are growing minute by minute. I've certainly lost all faith in this "SECURITY" company. I can only hope that my complaints posted through complaints.com will attraction some attention leading to resolution of my problems with them. All other efforts have certainly failed in yielding a timely resolution.

Do what I did, call A/C Cages at 407-446-9259. They might be in Florida, but they ship everywhere and they are the only ones who have a 100% guarentee behind their products. I installed them on all 3 stores, 4 rental units, and even my own home.

Protection One System Failure

Due to Faulty System.

January 23, 2008

On Thrusday December 20, 2007 one of 3 air conditioners was stolen from Rogers Foundation of Music. The theft was reported to the Independence Police the same day. I Phil Rogers owner of Rogers Foundation of Music and AirDigital Recording Inc. called protection one to express my concern that the alarm system couldn’t be armed after this AC unit was stolen. A protection one tech was sent to check out the alarm system. At this time FC appeared on the small screen on the number pad. I read this to the protection one operator before a tech man was sent to Rogers Foundation of Music to check out the system. The tech man came and made it possible for us to arm the alarm via the key pad. I didn’t know we were still not connected to the protection one monitoring terminal. Obviously the most critical problem still had not been resolved. We were open territory for any theft without a working sercurity system which we have been paying monthly. We could have been cleaned out totally until one of us arrived the next day. The security system seemed armed when we punched in the numbers to arm it---but again it didn’t connect Rogers Foundation of Music to the protection one monitoring terminal. The tech didn’t say anything about FC meaning we weren’t connected to the protection one monitoring terminal. I also expressed to the tech that the AC units had been wired to the protection one alarm system about 2 hears ago when an AC unit had been stolen then.

Two years ago we had an air conditioner stolen. At this time Rogers Foundation of Music had the air conditioners wired to the protection one alarm system by a protection one tech man so if there was another attempt to steel one or more of the 3 air conditioners protection one could respond by calling the police and stopping the robbery attempt.

Now on January 9, 2008 Rogers Foundation had the remaining 2 air conditioners stolen. These 2 air conditioners were wired to the protection one alarm system as was the first air conditioner that was stolen.

After receiving a phone call from Lee Kelly from his office in Rogers Foundation of Music early Wednesday morning January 9, 2008 I was informed the other 2 air conditionrs had been stolen. I expressed my concern that we had not received a call from protection one, therefore protection one had not contacted the Police. This gave the theives all the time in the world to steel anything they wanted---including leaving the building and it’s content exposed to theft. Now I was concerned that the protection one alarm system we had been paying protection one to protect and monitor the content of our building and business was faulty and leaving us exposed to the very theft we thought we were being protected from. Since the Police never responded to the theft because they were never alerted by protection one. I Phil Rogers owner of Rogers Foundation of Music and AirDigital Recording inc. called the Police the same day and then a report was taken over the phone. It was a little late for the Police to come to the crime scene. The damage was done. This is why the report was taken by the Police over the phone.

There’s hundreds of thousands of dollars in recording equipment, computers and software in 2 recording studios as well as photography equipment, electric pianos, computers and software for teaching and much more.

The recording client files on the computer hard drives could not be replaced if the computers and hard drives had been stolen. The monetary loss to clients would be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. These files could not be replaced. Our clients reach from Jerusalem, Europe, Africa and other continents.

There is no excuse for this kind of irresponsibility on the part of protection one security. This puts a total business at jeopardy.

The bill for January 16, 2008 on account (11830957) Rogers Foundation of Music received from protection one due to the lack of protection and negligence on the part of protection is totally out of line and arrogant on the part of protection one to think that Rogers Foundation of Music and AirDigital Recording Inc. would allow this lack of protection on the part of protection one to go unnoticed. Rogers Foundation of Music and AirDigital Recording Inc. have faithfully paid monthly for protection and did not receive this protection due to a faulty system that wasn’t even connected to the protection monitoring system even after being checked by the first tech. Even after the first tech man sent from protection one to secure their protection one security system---after the fist air conditioner theft the system was not connected to the protection one monitoring terminal even before and after the tech left. I don’t understand how a tech could leave without making sure the security system was working and responding to the monitoring terminal.

When the second tech came to the studio after the theft of the 2nd and 3rd air conditioners he stated FC on the number pad meant there was no connection of Rogers Foundation of Music to the monitoring terminal. The second tech then reprogrammed the system. It wasn’t until then the system was really doing what Rogers Foundation of Music had been paying for for months---PROTECTION THAT COULD BE MONITORED WHEN THE SYSTEM WAS ARMED---INSTEAD OF A FAULTY SYSTEM THAT GAVE ROGERS FOUNDATION NO PROTECTION DUE TO NEGLEGENCE ON THE PART OF PROTECTION ONE.

The theft of the 2nd and 3rd air conditioners could have been avoided had protection one been monitoring via a secure system---Rogers Foundation of Music and AirDigital Recording Inc. had been paying for monthly. Remember---the 2nd and 3rd AC units were stolen after the first tech had come out after the first AC unit was stolen and supposedly repaired the protection one surety system. Also remember all 3 AC units had been wired into the protection one security system 2 years before this theft of all 3 AC units. How many months have we been paying for protection and literally without knowing---Rogers Foundation of Music and AirDigital Recording Inc. had a false since of security due to a faulty protection one security system. At anytime Rogers Foundation of Music and AirDigital Recording Inc. could have been cleaned out without any possible notification to the Police department due to a faulty alarm system.

It is the fault of protection one that the air conditioners were stolen without any response to notify the Police. It is the fault of protection one that Rogers Foundation of Music and AirDigital Recording Inc. were left without protection.

I expect reimbusement for protection paid---and not received. I expect the deductable for the theft of the 3 air conditioners to be paid by protection one due to negligence for the faulty protection one system Rogers Foundation of Music and AirDigital Recording Inc. paid for on a continuing basis. I expect the tech charges to be removed for negligence on the part of protection one tech people.

I’m not sure how long we have been without a working security system---so I’m not sure how to treat this at present.

The total estimated cost for replacement of the stolen air conditioners is $7649.00. This is due to a faulty protection one system. State Farm is our insurance company. The Police reports are in their hands. This letter will be mailed to State Farm.

Phillip Rogers

President,

Rogers Foundation of Music

AirDigital Recording Inc.
