My vehicle broke down over 100 miles from my home, Budget Rent A Car had an office at the dealership (Fitzgeralds Auto Mall in Frederick MD) that had my vehicle to I tried to rent a car to rescue my stranded family go home, return the vehicle the next morning.

Budget said they required a major credit card w/$350.00 regardless of what the actual rental amount would be.

I have rented many cars over the years from many different companies including budget and have never run into this before.

I ended up taking a cab back to where my family was stranded at and waiting several more hours for a friend to come pick us up.

I went online today and checked into a one day rental from this same location and the cost was $51.29 and no where did it say they required a $350.00 deposit.

I will never rent from Budget again nor will I ever recommend them.
