Money, Credit Cards - Fleet Credit Card Services Fleet Edvance Card doesn't accept payment by phone

Complaints.com received the following e-message on January 13, 2001:

RE: Fleet Credit Card Services

I have the Edvance Card through Fleet Credit Card Services.

I live in Northern Minnesota and recently we have had several snow storms which prevented me from getting to the post office to send in my payment.

I called Fleet Credit Card Services and requested a phone payment for my $4.47 balance.

They stated they did not have that service, payment could not be paid by bank card or by another credit card.

They do not offer online payments as well. So my payment was late.

I am charged $35.00 plus an increase in my interest charges because they would not take payment by phone!

I have never been late with payment!
