Date: Saturday, January 13, 2001 10:51 PM z This site was posted for the benefit of MA consumers.

It summarizes a complaint made to the Boston Better Business Bureau, the MA Consumer Affairs office, Geocities Web site, et. al. Sargent's Energy, aka Sargent Oil, aka Prime Fuel installed an oil tank for $765.

The town fire deputy cited nine deficiencies, and made notice that job was not done to code and that a permit had not been filed.

Sargent refused to repair tank without additional payment, and refused to file permit. Another $450 was paid. Sargent repaired only one item on the list.

Fire deputy again notified Sargent that tank was not to code. Water entered the tank.

Sargent refused to return to repair. Oil could not be delivered since tank was still not to code. Finally, consumer paid another company $350 to effect repair and file permit.

For the next six months Sargent refused to return 35 phone calls, and hung up when connected. A certified letter sent to Sargent by consumer was returned unopened.

Witnesses include the house occupant (a Federal Marshall), the town fire deputy, and the engineers of the other oil co. Five additional certified letters were.

There has been no reply from Sargent. Consumer still awaits a reply from Sargent, and will post it to this site or remove site if Sargent will call to discuss & reslove the situation.
