Telephone Service, Verizon (formerly BAMM) trouble getting credit refund due
Verizon Customer Service Bell Atlantic From: Tara Mulvey Email User Date: Monday, February 05, 2001 06:47 PM _____________________ September 2000 I closed my account with BAMM (now Verizon) in September. At that time, I paid my balance in full. I then rec'd an invoice stating that I had a credit balance of $21.27. When I called to inquire about this, I was told that I would received a check in 6-8 weeks. November 2000 Called to inquire about my credit balance of $21.27 which I still had not rec'd. Will be issued shortly, I was told. December 2000 Called (again) to inquire about my credit balance. Check is in the mail, I was told. January 2001 Now, I smartened up, and started documenting all of my phone calls. 1/4/01 - called and spoke with Matt in customer service - he said that he had initiated the check, and that I should receive it in 10-14 days. 1/16/01 - spoke with customer service - check was mailed on 1/12/01 - they told me 1/31/01 - check still has not been rec'd. Called and spoke with Scott, and supervisor, Shelly. Scott will call AP tomorrow (2/1/01) and will leave me a message regarding check status. 2/5/01 - Still have not rec'd phone call back from Scott or Shelly. Called and spoke with Mandy, who said that Shelly was out today, and Scott was on another call. She reiterated that check had been mailed on 1/12/01, and maybe it go lost in the mail. I find this very ironic, since all of the bills with my credit balance have made it to me just fine. This is extremely poor customer service. Verizon charges a late payment fee of 1.5% per month, of which I feel that I am due, since I have been waiting since October for this check. I believe that this is a ruse not to give me my money, and I am frankly sick and tired of spending at least 30 - 45 minutes on hold, and re-explaining my problem to yet another customer service???? representative.
