Drugstores, Walgreens trouble using coupons at Wallgreens

_____________________ what is up with walgreens? I went to the store last week and wanted to buy 10 boxes of teh 4 for $1.00 tide sample boxes. they have a coupon in their circular for this product at .19 max purchase being 6.

I did not want to use the coupon and the mgr. told me that I can only buy 6 and he wouldnt take my manufacturers coupon for .50 off any size tide (the same coupon in the tide sample box) because they said you cant use a coupon on a purchase if it is less than the coupon amount...doesnt make much sense since the manufacturer pays walgreens the amount of the coupon! Then I found a friend of mine who works at a Walgreens in town and she told me:

That tonight there was a large sign by the time clock stating NOT to take the tide coupon, if anyone has a problem send them to the manager. It had a photocopy of the coupon on the box with it. The sign also said the purchase price must be for more than .50 cents. What is wrong with this picture???

The manager did exactly as required for coupons. A coupon's value cannot exceed the value of the product. Sorry that's the intent of the coupon. Walgreens didn't make the up the rules. You're not being shortchanged and neither is the manufacture. You have to be fair and if you think that someone doesn't eventually pay for all the retail loss including theft, breakage or coupon abuse then you're sadly mistaken and not living in the real world. Crank up your search engine and type in retailers declaring bankruptcy - I just did and it's scary. That's what is wrong with your picture..
