_____________________ When I first signed up to become a Mary Kay sales rep. everyone was all smiles, telling me how it was a "Christian Based" company.

Since paying over $300 to get started, my calls have not been returned, John Rochon, the current President refuses to speak with me.

His time is to precious to deal with the "little people" who build that company. He has a closed door policy regarding his sales people and hides behind the skirts of his staff members when NOT dealing with problems.

I've run up long distance charges trying to get someone to listen and resolve my concerns, I've been lied to and currently have filed a formal complaint with the ACLU, BBB, Attorneys Generals Office and the NAACP to start.

Maybe now someone will respond and refund my money, but why should I have to go though all of this just to get my hard earned money back from a "Christian" based company?

On 10/27/00 I met Renee Gaston, a beauty rep. and signed up to sell the line. We then drove to Marcy Evans house, area director, to pick up my case.

The case was short about 13 items. I didn't get a copy of my receipt that day and was given the first of several excuses as to why not.

I needed a consultant # to get the items on back order. After several unreturned calls to Renee and Marcy, Marcy gives me a bogus sales #. One that's her's and not mine.

I finally called corp. office to complain about their unresponsiveness and shaky business practices. (note I signed up in Oct. and they just didn't have time for me after I gave them the initial $118.00 for the case) After several long distance calls, Racheal in the Ruby Sales Center told me that what Marcy had did was "illegal to Mary Kay".

That I wasn't suppose to pick up my case at her house, it should have came in the mail and then I could have refused it and would have been able to transfer into another team. Also, Marcy should have given me my own consultant #. She told me to put what happened in writing to Gigi Brown in legal and I did on dec. 28th. This was the only way I was going to be allowed to change teams.

To date Gigi has not answered my letter or returned my follow up call. I again called Rachel, and she assured me that I would be able to transfer out of that group and to go ahead and order my web site. I trusted her, I believed her, and I paid another $212 in products for my quota for the month and $50 plus tax for my web site.

I then again called Racheal after the purchases to let her know I rec'd my inventory. She said she would call me the following Monday, which would have been 1/22/01.

She never did. I called John Rochon's office(president of MK) and he doesn't have the time or courtesy to take my calls. Instead he had Heather Hines call me and she said they were not going to change my team and that I should look at this as a "challange".

I don't need a "challenge" when spending this amount of money and requested a full refund. Heather now refuses to refund my money. She said the contract says web sites are not refundable. The only reason I signed up for the site was because Racheal lied to me by saying I could change teams.

I have paid over $300, long-distance charges, written letters, talked to literally over 10 different people, to be made a fool of. They claim to be "Christians" in my opinion they are liars and thieves.

BEWARE of Mary Kay.

Well hopefully this issue has been resolved. Now mary kay cosmetics has been in business for 45 years. It is a great company and all its policies and procedures are written out on their websites.

Back then, anything probably happened for the lack of knowledge given to consumers.

I trust now that this issue has been resolved.

I am so sorry that you have been mistreated. I am not sure why you paid $300 for a starter kit that cost $100 plus your states sales tax. Unfortunately not all people who work for Mary Kay are Christians. I wish I had a way to help you. Please do not judge the entire company by a few really lost people. Maybe you could list your items on e-bay or craigs list that way when you meet a real person with real heart and ethics you could sign up under them. If you return your product you may not sign up again. Sounds like someone need another gal to make whatever rung on the ladder. There are many people in Mary Kay who have not let the pink fog change their beliefs.
