A '90 volvo has TWO computers; one costs $1500 and the other costs $1300.
Both have gone out, this in a so-called 'Precision engineered' swedish product.
These computers are pretty stupid; consider that not so long ago, the monitoring of injection systems was done mechanically, at a cost of about $15.
For the price of either one of these computers, you could buy a very good desktop computer; but because they come from Sweden, they are incredibly expensive, like all Volvo parts.
I will never buy another Volvo; and I suggest that if you do not want to get stuck with a lemon that costs more to fix than to buy, you avoid Volvo products completely.
Sincerely,
Montino Bourbon
