First of all, we are living in the millenium, have you ever heard of credit card fraud???? How would you like to be the victim of it???

Second of all, divorces and separations happen every day.

There are people out there (believe it or not) that use the information they know of their ex husband or wife just to screw them over, and that includes finding out balances of credit card bills, changing the address on the account so the customer never gets the bill, etc, the point is that it happens.

I can't say anything for the customer service you received because I have never dealt with that co.

But I am glad that my credit card companys never divulge any information to anyone but ME.

And I am old enough to get a credit card, therefore I am old enough to find out the balance myself, and make arrangements for it to be paid when I am away.

I also can add someone on as an authorized user if I feel they can be trusted to access my account.

The POINT is, is that the company was trying to protect your husband and I think they deserve a little credit for that. They Reps. were just doing their jobs, do you expect them to risk their jobs so you wouldn't be inconvenienced with a late payment? Give me a break.

Wake up, this is the real world and people have to take responsibility for their own mistakes. If your husband or you lost the bill, too bad for you.

And as far as his mother applying for the card in the first place, my point is proven, fraud does exist and the company is trying to prevent it in any way they can.

P.S. Here is a hint: you can call a credit card co. and ask what percent they charge for the min. due payment.

Then estimate the balance, I'm sure you would have an approximate idea going by the last bill and adding what you think was spent and taking away any payments.

Then calculate the percent, add a few bucks just in case and make the payment.

That way you won't be late.
