On December 7, 2000 I placed an order for a figurine with Collectibles Today.

 

I requested priority shipment which was an extra $4.00 and received an e-mail confirmation of the order and the priority shipment charge.

 

The figurine was received on December 18th, badly broken due to extremely poor packaging. There were only 11 styrofoan peanuts around the item which was shipped in a lightweight gift box, not a shipping carton. I called Collectibles Today, spoke to Deanna, who was very nice at that time.

 

She told me a replacement would be shipped immediately by priority mail to arrive before Christmas.

 

On December 21, Deanna called and spoke to my husband, telling him that the figurine would not arrive before Christmas, but would be here on December 26th. This wasn't great, but it was acceptable.

 

December 26 and 27 came and went - no figurine. Today, December 28, I called Collectibles Today to find out where my order was.

 

I spoke to Mary who told me that the order had been shipped, but not by priority mail, and wouldn't arrive until approximately January 6th.

 

She also said that the order notes did not say the second order would arrive on December 26th. (NOTE: My husband is a very intelligent man who doesn't just accept what people say - he repeats what they've told him and asks if what he said is correct.)

 

After usless discussion with Mary, I was transfered to Deanna, who wasn't so nice this time.

 

She said she never told my husband the order would arrive by December 26th, that the item was on a backordered basis, but due to our broken shipment, a rush was put on the replacement order.

 

Plus, it wasn't set up to ship priority because of the backorder status.

 

No mention of backorders was made to my husband or to me when I initially called about the broken order.

 

Deanna said I could refuse the new shipment if I chose to do so, which I may do. She refused to ship another order priority mail with no charge to me for the shipping charges.

 

So here we are on December 28th and my mother still doesn't have her Christmas present. This is NOT acceptable. My mom is visiting for the holidays; she lives 1000 miles from here.

 

When her present finally arrives, it will have to be shipped again at additional cost to me. Collectibles Today didn't seem to feel this was a problem! All in all, their Customer Service stinks.

 

My advice - DON'T BUY FROM THEM! And tell your friens not to buy from them - I certainly will.
