Credit Cards - Chase poor customer service with transfer of Macy's credit card accont to Chase account by telephone

Complaints.com received the following e-message on December 16, 2000:

I would like to air my complaint about my Chase credit card account.

In August 2000 I transferred my Macy's credit card account to my Chase account by telephone-- or so I thought.

The next statement and the following statements from Macy's didn't show the transfer. My next Chase statement however posted the transfer.

I called Macy's to let them know that my Chase account now shows the Macy's balance.

Macy's said again that they didn't receive the payment and to prove that Chase paid they would need a copy of the check that Chase sent to Macy's to transfer my balance.

I called Chase in October and the representative told me they would send me a copy of the check. I waited about 10 business days and the copy never arrived.

I called Chase again. Again, they said they would send a copy of the check. I waited another 10 days still no check copy. I called again.

This time a Chase rep said this time they would put a rush on sending the check. Well, it is 11 business days later and I still do not have this copy of the check.

I have totaled 9 contacts with Chase and I can't get them to send a copy of this check. Macy's has charged me a late fee on my account and this added amount to my balance is accruing interest.

The amount that I transferred to Chase is also accruing interest.

I'm not so angry that maybe Chase made a mistake and credited the incorrect account .

I'm angry that they haven't given me a straight answer and won't tell me why it is taking so long to send this copy of the check or if in fact there is a check and are so prolonging this dispute process.
