RE: Pet Health Insurance - Veterinary Pet Insurance
To all of you loving pet owners out there who don't know it, yes, there is Pet Health Insurance.
The leading company is called Veterinary Pet Insurance.
I have been a customer of theirs for years, and have recommended them to many friends.
And now, when I have really needed their coverage, they have failed me.
Long story short, the only reason I have pet insurance is so that in a catastrophic situation involving my pets, I do not have to make a decision between good health care for my dogs and my finances.
Two weeks ago, our dog Pogue swallowed a bag of macademia nuts. Literally could not move. I took her to the emergency room, rang up nearly $500 in charges.
Submitted the bills to Veterinary Pet Insurance.
They paid out less than 25% on the claim.
I consider this unacceptable coverage. Please forward this email to the universe.
Please do not use the company's services.
Sorry to bother you with this.
Yours, Kurt

The first time, the claim was paid without a problem. The second surgery they denied and we had to fight tooth and nail to get paid. The 3rd surgery, which was different (for his eyes) was refused even though ever code was covered under the benefit book. For almost ten years, we have paid $40.00 a month for our dogs insurance; yet when we need to use the policy they refused to pay. I think that this is close to fraud and plan on reporting VPI to the Better Business Burea and other appropriate agencies. Because our dog has a pre-existing condition, we are stuck with VPI but I would recommend others to find another insurance company From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Friday, 19-Sep-08 07:37:55 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
